Centella asiatica, commonly known as centella and gotu kola, is a small, herbaceous, frost-tender perennial plant of the family

Mackinlayaceae or subfamily Mackinlayoideae of family Apiaceae, and is native to wetlands in Asia.
 Gotu kola is also used for
  1. fatigue,
  2. anxiety,
  3. depression,
  4. psychiatric disorders,
  5. Alzheimer's disease,
  6. improving memory
and intelligence. 
   Other uses include wound healing, trauma, and circulation problems (venous insufficiency) including varicose veins, and blood clots in the legs.
