Bibhitaki is growing widely throughout the Indian subcontinent, Sri Lanka and SE Asia. In the Traditional system of medicine like Ayurvedic medicine, Siddhaand Unani, medicinaluses have been described as it is works in disease of every system. Glucoside, Tannins, Galliacid, Ellagicacid, Ethylgalate, Gallylglucose,Chebulanic acid are mainly believed to be responsible for its wide therapeutic actions. It isused as antioxidant, antimicrobial, antidiarrheal, anticancer, antidiabetic, antihypertensive and hepatoprotective agent.
