Salvia lanata

Salvia lanata is a perennial plant that can grow up to 0.30 metres tall. It is harvested from the wild for local use as a food and medicine.

It contains 49 components with camphor (25.14 %), α-thujone (18.83 %), 1,8-cineole (14.14 %), viridiflorol (7.98 %), β-thujone (4.46 %) and β-caryophyllene (3.30 %) as the major components.[2]

How to plant/cultivate

Requires a very well-drained light sandy soil in a sunny position. Prefers a rich soil. Plants can be killed by excessive winter wet. Members of this genus are rarely if ever troubled by browsing deer.[4]
