Gitanandasana [1] is an Asana. It is translated as Pose Dedicated to Gitananda from Sanskrit.
The name of this pose comes from "Gitananda" referring to a Hindu Sage", and "asana" meaning "posture" or "seat".
Benefits
- It opens the inner back of shoulders and triceps
- Promotes spinal flexibility
- Stretches the hamstrings and the front of the thighs.
Cautions
- Be careful while doing this pose if you have any ankle, knee, hip, spinal or shoulder injuries.
