Yoga Sutra 1.4
Revision as of 11:50, 23 July 2018 by Ansuman (talk | contribs) (Ansuman moved page Sutra 4:What happens otherwise to purusha? to Yoga Sutra 4: as per discussion at User talk:HPNadig)
वृत्ति सारूप्यमितरत्र ॥४॥
vṛtti sārūpyam-itaratra ॥4॥
vṛtti:modification, pattern; sārūpyam:identification; itaratra:in other state
- Or there is identification with the modifications of chitta.
When the chitta vrittis are not in the state of nirodha, then the modifications of chitta are superimposed on purusha. Here purusha means the gross body, the self.
