Yoga Sutra 1.4
(Redirected from Yoga Sutra 4)
वृत्ति सारूप्यमितरत्र ॥४॥
vṛtti sārūpyam-itaratra ॥4॥
- vṛtti: modification, pattern
- sārūpyam: identification
- itaratra: in other state
- Or there is identification with the modifications of chitta.
What happens otherwise to purusha?: When the chitta vrittis are not in the state of nirodha, then the modifications of chitta are superimposed on purusha. Here purusha means the gross body, the self.
