Padma Pinyamayurasana[1] (Also Padma Pincha Mayurasana) is an Asana. It is translated as Lotus Peacock Feather Pose from Sanskrit.

The name of this pose comes from "padma" meaning "lotus", "pincha" meaning "feather", "mayura" meaning "peacock" and "asana" meaning "posture" or "seat". It is a variation of Pincha Mayūrāsana.

Benefits

  1. It strengthens the arms and upper back.
  2. Creates a sense of balance.
  3. Stimulates blood flow to the internal organs (since it is an inversion).
  4. Strengthens the core.
  5. It also opens the inner hips, knees and ankles.

cautions

  • Be careful while doing this pose if you have high blood pressure, spinal injuries, shoulder, elbow or neck injuries, hip, knee or ankle injuries.
