Vitex peduncularis

Vitex peduncularis is a tree growing 5 - 15 metres tall. The plant is sometimes harvested from the wild for its timber and local medicinal use. It is cultivated as a shade tree in Assam.

Chemical Composition

A review of the literature reveals that the presence of various chemical constituents in the different parts of the Vitex peduncularis are flavones, 4'-acetoxy-5-hydroxy-6, 7-dimethoxyflavone together with four known compounds, crisimartin, genkwanin, 3α-friedeliniol and 3β-friedeliniol etc.[2]
