Yoga Sutra 1.21
तीव्रसंवेगानामासन्नः ॥२१॥
tīvra-saṁvegānām-āsannaḥ ॥21॥
- tīvra: high intensity, very intense
- saṁvega: urge, conviction, strong will
- āsannaḥ: very close, near
- Those who have an intense urge attain asamprajnata samadhi very soon.
- OR
- Samadhi is nearest to those whose desire (for Samhadhi) is intensely strong and those are intensely energetic.
Intensity and rate of practice - The practitioner who moves forward with great level of intensity, at a very fast pace, achieves samadhi faster than the others. Two things are emphasized here; one is pace, the speed at which one is going forward, and second, the conviction, intensity of effort one puts into the practice.
