Svedana Composition

Sūta (pārada) - - 1 part
Āsuri (rājikā) - Sd. 1/16 part
Paṭu (Saiṇdhava lavaṇa) - - 1/16 part
Śuṇṭhī - Rz. 1/16 part
Marica - Fr. 1/16 part
Pippalī - Fr. 1/16 part
Citraka-mūla - Rt. 1/16 part
Ārdraka - Rt. 1/16 part
Mūlaka - Rt 1/16 part
Kāñjīka - QS

Method

Poṭṭali is prepared by taking four fold cloth, bhūrja patra or kadali patra is to be placed on this four fold cloth, then besmear the leaf with prepared kalka, on which pārada is gently placed. The remaining kalka is put on pārada, and then the Poṭṭali is tied by a string immersed in dolā yantra containing Kāṅjika, then heated for three days. After three days heating, Kalka and pārada collected for other samskāra i.e. mardana.[1]
