Sugarcane wax is used as a commercial source of long chain Fatty Alcohols, Acids, Esters, Aldehydes, and Ketones. Policosanols and D-003 along with some steroids and terpenoids have also been identified and isolated from sugarcane wax<ref name="chemical composition"/>
