==How to plant/cultivate==
A plant of the tropics, where it is found at elevations up to 2,900 metres. It grows best in areas where annual daytime temperatures are within the range 22 - 30°c, but can tolerate 12 - 45°c.<ref name="How to plant/cultivate"/>
