तज्जपस्तदर्थभावनम् ॥२८॥

taj-japaḥ tad-artha-bhāvanam ॥28॥

  1. tat: that
  2. japa: repeated remembrance, chanting
  3. tat: that
  4. artha: meaning
  5. bhāvanam: understanding with feeling, absorbing, dwelling upon mentally

That (the word Aum) should be recited repeatedly while dwelling mentally on its meaning.

Sadhana for Ishwara - Just repeating and chanting the name of Ishwara with utmost devotion thinking only of Him should help one realize God as the ultimate point of consciousness of divinity in us is samadhi. Ishwara is Parabrahman, the transcendental being; exists in the unmanifested state of things i.e. avyakta.
