Teucrium chamaedrys

Teucrium chamaedrys is an evergreen shrub that can grow up to 0.30 metres tall. It is harvested from the wild for local use as a food, medicine and source of materials.

Chemical Composition

Chamaedrys were identified representing (90.8%) of the oils. Main constituents of the oil were found as germacrene D (32.1%), b- caryophyllene (14.2%), d-cadinene (13.1%), bicyclogermacrene (6.7%) and b-farnesene (4.3%).[2]

Succeeds in any moderately good soil in sun or light shade. Prefers a dry calcareous soil and a sunny position.[4]
