 The '''RambutanNephelium lappaceum''' is a medium-sized tropical tree in the family Sapindaceae. The name also refers to the edible fruit produced by this tree. The rambutan is native to the Malay-Indonesian region and other regions of tropical Southeast Asia. It is closely related to several other edible tropical fruits including the lychee, longan, and mamoncillo.

Rambutan grows best in the lowland humid tropics at an elevation below 600 metres, though Seed - it can also has a very short viability and so needs to be grown non-commercially up sown as soon as it is extracted from the fruit. Wash the seed first to 1,950 metresremove traces of the fruit.<ref name="How to plant/cultivate"/>
