The perennials prefer Turmeric is a halflow-shady situation on moist soil. The substrate should be sandy-loamy or gritty-loamy soil. They tolerate temperatures only above at least 1°Cgrowing tropical herbaceous plant, which forms many long thin rhizomes<ref name="How to plant/cultivate"/>
