Asteracantha longifolia is a source of the ayurvedic drug. The seeds are acrid, bitter, aphrodisiac, tonic, sedative, used for diseases of the blood.

Uses

Jaundice, Impotency, Less sperm count, General debility, Renal calculi, Hepatomegaly, Bloting of the abdomen.

Chemical Composition

The plant gave lupeol stignasteril and hydrocarbons, the seed gave sterols and the flowers have apegenin glucuronide.[1]
