Divisions are the most convenient way to propagate baneberry. Seeds can take a long time to germinate, they should be sowed in vermiculite. Dappled sunlight to medium shade, moist to mesic conditions, and a fertile loamy soil with abundant organic matter is preferred<ref name="How to plant/cultivate"/>
