This tree is planted as an ornamental for its showy, scented flowers, and as a botanical specimen for its interesting fruit. the trees are grown extensively in Shiva temples in India. The flowers are called shivalinga flowers in hindi; nagamalli flowers or mallikarjuna flowers in telugu.
This fantabulous herb has a various health benefits, some of them are listed below:
- Native amazonians use extracts of several parts of the trees to treat hypertension, tumors, pain, and inflammation
- It has been used to treat the common cold, stomachache, skin conditions and wounds, malaria and toothache
