Hasta Mudras

Hasta Mudras are the mudras that are performed by simple finger gestures. So they are called hasta mudras. Hasta mudras and mana mudras, form a relatively large propotion in the universe of mudras. This reflects the fact that the operation and interpretation of information coming from these areas of the human body occupies 50% of the cerebral cortex.
- There are two kinds of hasta mudras :
1) Health Mudras: Health Mudras are primarily beneficial in developing and maintaining health.
- They also have therapeutic usage.
- Some of the important mudras in developing and maintaining health are: Jnana, Prithvi, Akasha, Varuna, Apana, and Prana.
2) Spiritual Mudras: Spiritual mudras are used in worship and meditation.
- Some of the important spiritual mudras are : Namaste, Shankha and Dhyana.
- Some mudras used in therapy are: Vayu, Apana, Vayu, Shoonya, Soorya, Jalodar Nashak and Linga.
