शब्दज्ञानानुपाती वस्तुशून्यो विकल्पः ॥९॥

Śabdajñānānupātī vastuśūnyo vikalpaḥ ॥9॥

Śabda:word, sound; jñāna:cognition; anupāti:following upon; vastu:object; śūnyaḥ:empty; vikalpaḥ:fancy, imagination

Following upon knowledge through words but empty of an object is fancy.
OR
Verbal delusion arises when words do not correspond to reality.

Vikalpa - unfounded belief is imagination without the basis of an object. It is a creation of our mind. Unlike right and false knowledge, there is no real object in vikalpa.
