The rambutan is native to the Malay-Indonesian region and other regions of tropical Southeast Asia. == Description Chemical Composition== It is an evergreen tree growing to a height of 12–20 m. The leaves volatile compounds identified in rambutan fruit using GC/O are alternateβ-damascenone, (E)-4,5-epoxy-(E)-2-decenal, vanillin, (E)-2-nonenal, 10–30 cm longphenylacetic acid, pinnatecinnamic acid, with three to 11 leafletsethyl 2-methylbutyrate, each leaflet 5–15 cm wide and 3–10 cm broadδ-decalactone, with an entire margin.
