Shvetha Saariva consists of root of Hemidesmus indicus (Linn.) R. Br. (Fam.Asclepiadaceae), a prostrate or semi-erect shrub found throughout India from upper Gangetic plains east-wards to Assam, throughout Central, Western and Southern India upto an elevation of 600 m.[1]
