Excoecaria agallocha is an evergreen, or briefly deciduous shrub or small tree growing 10 - 30 metres tall. The bole, which branches from low down, has stilt roots.

How to plant/cultivate
A plant of the lowland tropics and subtropics, where it is found at elevations up to 400 metres. It grows best in areas where annual daytime temperatures are within the range 20 - 30°c, but can tolerate 15 - 37°c.[3]
