What can I upload?
Images that you upload to Wikimedia Commons have to be educational and freely licensed.
- We can accept images that you created entirely by yourself. Examples »
- We can't accept images created or inspired by others, without their permission.
- We can't accept any image which is not freely licensed or clearly in the public domain— most images found on the Web are not freely licensed and must not be uploaded to Commons.
- We can accept images that depict a person, an object, or that illustrate an idea, so long as that image is freely licensed
- Commons is not a repository for your personal photos— we are not a web hosting service like Facebook or Pintrest, and all of our images must have potential educational use. Learn more »
