General Descripition

Avaleha or Lehya is a semi-solid preparation of drugs, prepared with addition of jaggery, sugar or sugar-candy and boiled with prescribed juices or decoction.

Preparation Involves

The base should not produce irritation or sensitization of the skin, nor should it retard wound healing; it should be smooth, inert, odourless, physically and chemically stable and compatible with the skin and with incorporated medicaments.[1]
