Punarnava consists of dried, matured whole plant of Boerhaavia diffusa Linn. (Fam Nyctaginaceae), trailing herb found throughout India and collected after rainy season, herb is diffusely branched with stout root stock and many long slender, prostrate or ascending branches. [1]
