The oil contains the carvone, d-limonene, and a carbonyl compound, nigellone. The seed oil has antibacterial, insecticidal, bronchiodilatory, hypotensive and immune-stimulant properties. It contains nourishing amino acids such as cysteine, lysine, valine and leucine[2]
