Amrutha balli or Tinospora cordifolia, which is known by the common names heart-leaved moonseed,guduchi and giloy, is an herbaceous vine of the family Menispermaceae indigenous to the tropical areas of India, Myanmar and Sri Lanka.

- In Ayurvedic medicine, Tinospora cordifolia is known as “Guduchi” and is considered to be one of the most divine herbs.
- This herb is used to cure for Gout, Pile, general debility, fever, Jaundice .
Medicinal Uses
Amrutha balli is used as a medicine for the following:-
- OSTEOARTHRITIS (joint diseases) - For one spoon of Ambruta balli juice add one spoon of ginger juice and honey each and consume it for twice a day before having lunch and Dinner as a remedy for people suffering from Joint Pain.
- Pimples - People having pimples, can apply amrutha balli leaves or Stem on their face daily before sleep and and wash it IN THE MORINING.This would not only cure pimples but also give glow to their face.
- Piles - Consuming the food prepared by amrutha balli is good for Piles. Example: Tambuli(ತಂಬುಳಿ)
- Skin Diseases - Consuming Neem crust and amrutha balli kashaya(ಕಷಾಯ) helpful for Skin Diseases.
