Safflower, Carthamus tinctorius

Carthamus tinctorius is an annual plant native to the Mediterranean countries and cultivated in Europe and the U.S.

Chemical Composition

The major constituent is the chalcone C-glucoside carthamin (up to 8.5%)[1]
