Rhododendron cinnabarinum is a much-branched, usually evergreen shrub. It has long slender branches. It can grows upto 2 - 3 metres tall. The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a food and a fuel.

The leaves of Rhododendron cinnabarinum Hook. have been examined for their chemical constituents. Ursolic acid and quercetin were isolated and characterized.[2]

Rhododendron cinnabarinum is native to moderate to high elevations of the Himalayas, where it can be found at elevations up to metres 4,000 metres.[5]
Commonly seen growing in areas
