Wasabi

Wasabi is a plant of the Brassicaceae family, which includes cabbages, horseradish, and mustard. The plant grows naturally along stream beds in mountain river valleys in Japan.

Chemical Composition

Contains volatile oils, flavonoids, apigenin, luteolin, quercetin, kaempferol, tiliroside, triterpene glycosides including euscapic acid and tormentic acid, phenolic acids, and 3%–21% tannins.[1]
