Withania coagulans - Rishyagandha

Withania coagulans is a plant in the Solanaceae or nightshade family, native to Afghanistan, Pakistan and the Indian subcontinent. Within the Withania genus W. somnifera (Ashwagandha) and W. coagulans (Paneer booti/Ashutosh booti) are economically significant, and are cultivated in several regions for their use in Ayurveda.

Simple alternate Shoots rigid, greyish-green, stellate-tomentose. Leaves 3-8 x 1.4-3.5 cm, elliptic-ovate to elliptic-lanceolate, obtuse or acute, cuneate, leathery, nerves faint. Petiole 5-10 mm long.
