Alternately 3 oblong to oval smooth-edged or slightly toothed leaflets (2-12 cm long and 1-5 cm wide). The leaves arise on long stalks (5-30 cm) from the plant base. Wing-like appendages (stipules) are found at the base of the leaf stalks.
