Betula alnoides

Betula alnoides is a deciduous tree with a rather open crown. It grows uptoto 30 metres tall. The straight, cylindrical bole is up to 60cm in diameter. The tree is harvested from the wild for local use as a medicine, source of timber etc.

Snake bites, Dislocated bones.

Parts Used

Inner bark, Young bark.

Chemical Composition

Compounds having antimicrobial activity obtained from plant sources are useful because they are new sources against antibiotic resistance.[1]

How to plant/cultivate

A tree mainly of the warm temperate to subtropical zones, it is also found in the tropics at moderate elevations in areas such as northern Vietnam.[3]
