Salvia sclarea, clary sage

Salvia sclarea is a berennial or short-lived herbaceous perennial in the genus Salvia. It is native to the northern Mediterranean Basin, along with some areas in north Africa and Central Asia. The plant has a lengthy history as a medicinal herb, and is currently grown for its essential oil.

Acne, Boils, Dandruff, Hair loss, Inflamed conditions, Oily skin, Opthalmia, Wrinkles, Ulcers.

Parts Used

Flowers, Leaves.

Chemical Composition

linalool (an alcohol) and acetic acid (an acid) combine to become linalyl acetate[1]
