Common names - Indian Almond ; Wild Almond Tamil: KATTUP PADHA MARAM ‘ forest almond’ Hindi - Jangli badam Gum from bark is used for book binding ; Seeds are edible ; Oil from plant is useful as biodiesel ; Oil is also utilized as insecticide ; Laeves’ function as fodder is notable; Timber is suitable to make musical instruments ;It has been found out that leaves contain Sterculic acid; From 

bark cordages are made ; Flower smells foul.
