Prabhakara Vati is a pill preparation made with the ingredients in the Formulation Composition given below

M¡kÀika (Svar¸am¡kÀika Bhasma (API)) Calcined Chalcopyrite 1 part
Lauha (Lauha Bhasma (API)) Calcined Lauha 1 part
Abhra (Abhraka Bhasma (API)) Calcined Abhraka 1 part
Tug¡kÀ¢r¢ (VaÆ¿alocana (API)) Bamboo manna S. C. 1 part
áil¡jatu (API) - áuddha 1 part
P¡rthav¡ri (Arjuna API) - Kv¡tha Terminalia arjuna St. Bk. QS

Method of preparation

  • Take all ingredients of pharmacopoeial quality.
  • Treat Svarna maakshika to get svarna maakshika bhasma.
  • Treat Lauha to get Lauha bhasma.
  • Treat Abhraka to get Abhraka bhasma.
  • Treat Shilaajatu to get Shilaajatu- shuddha.
  • Wash, clean, dry the ingredient number 6 of the Formulation Composition, powder separately and pass through 355 µm I. S. sieve (sieve number 44) (kvatha dravya). [1]

Description

  • Reddish brown pills with a faint odour and acrid taste.

Storage

  • Store in a cool place in tightly closed containers, protected from light and moistu.

Therapeutic uses

  • Hrdroga (heart disease).

Dose

  • 250 mg - 500 mg per day in divided doses with water/ Arjuna kvatha/milk.
