Madhulīkā

The drug consists of dried root of Eleusine corocana (L.) Gaertn. (Fam. Poaceae), an erect, stout, annual grass, cultivated throughout India.

Uses

Fever, Biliousness, Hepatitis, Leprosy, Liver disease, Measles, Pleurisy, Pneumonia, Small pox.

Parts Used

Seeds.

Chemical Composition

Flavonoids, orientin, isoorientin, vitexin, isovitexin, violanthin, lucenin-1, tricin, keto acids; polysaccharide and the free sugars, β-sitosterol glucoside.[1]
