Family: Plumbaginaceae Local name(Telugu): Chitra mulam Distribution: Common in undergrowth of bushes and hedges in tropics. A perennial scandent woody herb, Leaves alternate, entire, petiole auricled at the base. Flowers white in terminal spikes,Calyx 5 tubular coverd with stalked glands, corola tube long slender, stames free.

Root is used as medicine.
